My kos is in a suburb called Karanggayam (ayam means chicken in Indonesian, so thats how i remember it)... the other suburbs around it are called Karangasem and Karang-other things, so its confusing lol. It doesnt take me long to get anywhere. I can walk through all the little streets and lanes to uni in about fifteen or twenty mins which is a really nice walk, away from the busy roads. This morning I caught a bus to the Jogja Plaza, where Im a member of the gym (and pool!) and a bus to uni so Im orientating myself a bit.
My room is really nice. Its quite big tho, for a bedroom, i feel like i cant fill it up! Its nice, Im on the outside edge of the building so i get a bit of sun (although that means i also get a bit of noise from the street on the other side of the fence, hard to avoid i think). Ive spread my mess around so it feels quite homely. The other girls are nice too. Theres a couple of other aussies living there (coincidence) and i walk to uni and stuff with them sometimes. Ive had a chat to a couple of the others too, a couple of indonesian girls, a german and a japanese girl... they all seem nice. Havent been locked out yet, not having that many late nights!

What no comments? - we'll fix that
Good to see you're settling in and that you've got at least 2 pics of me on your wall (what's with the toy tassie tiger?)
If you get a sec in the next wk - would you mind gathering me some intel on the hospitals close to you - might make my way up there to visit you yet, and get some of my ASU out of the way.
Esp. interested in infectious disease units (fairly certain the prefecture hosp. was the one with the '06 avain flu outbreak).
Anyway enjoy - beware of motorbikes, and I expect lots more pics,
Doc
P.S. Who's the chick in white holding the camera in your last pic ? ;)
